These leaders provide strategic direction, scientific oversight, and ethical governance to the network. Their collective expertise will help CORN to generate high-quality real-world evidence, promote ethical and clinically relevant research, and translate scientific insights into improved patient care. Through research collaboration, education, and advocacy, CORN strives to strengthen clinical practice and contribute meaningfully to national and global efforts in tackling the growing burden of obesity.
Dr. Manoj Chadha, MD, DM – President, Clinical Obesity & Research Network (CORN)
Dr. Manoj Chadha is a veteran endocrinologist and diabetologist based in Mumbai, serving as a Consultant at P.D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre. With decades of clinical experience and deep expertise in diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, and metabolic health, he brings both medical rigor and compassionate patient care to his leadership role.
Dr. Chadha has made significant contributions in both clinical practice and medical education. He has published research on lipid abnormalities, Cushing’s syndrome, and endocrine disorders, and has been a faculty member in numerous postgraduate and certification programs. He has also reflected on the evolution of endocrinology over his career, highlighting the expanding role of metabolic medicine in modern healthcare.
Throughout his career, he has spoken publicly on the interconnection of obesity and diabetes, emphasizing how excess weight is not just cosmetic but a complex metabolic condition with long-term health implications.
As President of Clinical Obesity and Research Network (CORN), Dr. Chadha is uniquely positioned to lead the organization’s mission of advancing obesity science in India and globally. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sahay, MD, DM, FAMS, FACE, FICP, FRSSDI Vice President, Clinical Obesity & Research Network (CORN)
Dr. Rakesh K. Sahay is an eminent endocrinologist and diabetologist based in Hyderabad, with over three decades of experience in metabolic medicine. He serves as Professor of Endocrinology at Osmania Medical College and leads the Sahay Endocrine & Diabetes Centre in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.
He holds an MBBS, DNB and MD in Medicine, and DM in Endocrinology. Over his career, Dr. Sahay has been the Principal Investigator in numerous multi-centric clinical trials on diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, and osteoporosis. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles and contributed to several textbooks.
Dr. Sahay is a respected voice in national and international professional societies: he has been awarded Fellowship of National Academy of Medical Sciences, he also has been awarded fellowships of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE) and the Indian College of Physicians (FICP). He has been the President of Endocrine Society of India (2022), President of Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) (2024), Diabetes in Pregnancy Study Group of India (2024-25) and South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (2024-25). He is a strong advocate for stigma-free diabetes care and is frequently invited to public forums to clarify myths around metabolic health.
As Vice President of CORN, Dr. Sahay brings a rare blend of deep clinical expertise, academic rigour, and research leadership. In this role, he helps define CORN’s strategic vision, fosters partnerships across scientific communities, and champions research aimed at better understanding obesity as a chronic metabolic disease. His leadership is central to CORN’s mission of driving high-impact, evidence-based interventions to improve obesity outcomes across the globe.
Dr. Bharat Saboo, Secretary, Clinical Obesity & Research Network (CORN)
Dr. Bharat Saboo serves as Director of Prayas Diabetes Centre in Indore, a centre known for comprehensive, integrative, and compassionate care for individuals with diabetes, obesity, and endocrine disorders. Over the past two decades, he has transformed the metabolic health of thousands through evidence-based, patient-focused practice.
He holds an MBBS, Diploma in Diabetology, and an MSc in Endocrinology, and is SCOPE-certified, reflecting advanced global competency in obesity management.
Dr. Saboo’s contributions to metabolic research have received international acclaim. He was awarded the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Best Research Award in 2025, received the Journal of Endocrinology (UK) Travel Grant in 2022, and earned the Best Abstract Award at the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2021.
As Secretary of CORN, he helps shape global obesity strategies by promoting collaborative research, developing knowledge-sharing frameworks, and supporting innovation in obesity and metabolic care. His vision, academic leadership, and commitment to public health continue to advance CORN’s mission globally.
Dr. Amit Gupta, Scientific Head & Executive Member, Clinical Obesity and Research Network (CORN)
Dr. Amit Gupta is a distinguished diabetologist and endocrinology expert, widely recognized for his clinical excellence, academic leadership, and contributions to metabolic health research. With close to two decade of experience in diabetes, obesity, and endocrine disorders, he has emerged as a leading voice in advancing evidence-based metabolic care across India.
Dr. Gupta serves as the Medical Director of the Centre for Diabetes Care in Greater Noida and holds prestigious international fellowships including FACE (American College of Endocrinology),FRCP (Edinburgh & Glasgow) and Senior Fellow IDF . He is an active contributor to global scientific bodies, having held leadership positions including Secretary-Global Advisory Group of American Diabetes Association (ADA) and Chair International Diabetes Federation (IDF) School of Diabetes, and currently serves on several national committees including the Executive Council of RSSDI and Diabetes India.
A prolific academician, Dr. Gupta has authored and edited major textbooks in diabetes—including contributions to the RSSDI Textbook of Diabetes and Saidikot’s International Textbook of Diabetes—and has more than 100 national and international publications to his credit. His work emphasizes integrated metabolic care, the role of technology in chronic disease management, and the evolving science of obesity.
As Scientific Head and Executive Member of CORN, Dr. Amit Gupta brings visionary leadership, scientific rigor, and deep clinical insight. He plays a central role in shaping CORN’s research agenda, clinical guidelines, national and international collaborations, with a mission to elevate obesity science and improve patient outcomes across the globe.
